According to the National Rural Health Alliance Fact sheet (2017), the reported prevalence of mental illnesses in rural and remote Australia appears similar to that of major cities. However, access to mental health services is substantially more limited than in major cities. Tragically, rates of self-harm and suicide increase with remoteness.

Our endeavor:

Under the trade name Health and Logistics Australia, Oziment Pty Ltd is committed to provide quality mental health care to the people of Regional and Rural areas in Australia through collaboration with other health care providers like Local Primary Health Network, GPs, VMOs, Psychologists, Social Workers, Mental health Nurses, Aboriginal Health workers, Carers etc.

Oziment Pty Ltd is also delivering Mental Health Master Classes for Regional and Rural GP’s and other Allied Health Services.

Education and Workshop on Mental Health

One of the missions of Oziment Pty Ltd is to offer education to the people in the regional and rural area about mental illnesses in order to reduce the stigma associated with Mental illness. Oziment is currently in the process of organising workshops in the Regional towns.

Closing the gap between Physical and Mental health

A number of researches have shown that people with severe mental illnesses die 20 yrs. earlier than those without and this gap is getting worse. Hence, reducing the gap is its utmost priority. Oziment is determined to reduce the gap between the physical and mental health of people by Bio-psycho-social approach and collaboration.

Economic Development

The Australian Institute of Health and Welfare has suggested that mental health significantly contributes to Australia’s disease burden. Oziment Pty Ltd is keen to work with local NGOs, Companies and other establishments to create an environment where general wellbeing and productively can be flourished. Oziment strongly believes that by optimizing mental health care in regional and remote areas, it will contribute to the economic development of Regional and Rural Australia.

Special Interest Mental Health Services:

Oziment has a special interest of offering mental health services to people from Indian Subcontinent with diverse linguistic and cultural needs. Currently we are liaising with clinicians and therapists to create a network of mental health professionals who would be willing to deliver such services. Oziment is actively in touch with such professional groups such as Australasian Psychiatrists of Indian Origin.
